Mr. Christopher “Chris” Burke, age 44 died Friday, August 14, 2015.  He was a native of Cedar Crossing and lived in the Atlanta area for ten years before moving back to Toombs County in 1997.  He was the Salutatorian for the 1989 graduating Vidalia High School Class as well as a 1993 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, earning a degree in aerospace engineering.  He started his career at Plant Hatch in maintenance engineering, later in operations, and presently in project management. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Vidalia and loved drag boat racing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty O’Neal Burke.

Mr. Burke is survived by his wife, Tonya Burke of Vidalia; five children, Amber Williams of North Augusta, South Carolina, Sophia Dean of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Maegan Sager, Claire Burke, and Cecily Burke all of Vidalia; his father, Tommy Burke and wife Teresa of the McGregor Community; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his café family.

The funeral service will held Wednesday, August 19th at 11:00 a.m. in chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Rollins and Reverend Allen Cason officiating.  Burial will follow in the McCrimmon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00.
