Toombs County,

Mr. Charlie Crawley, age 36, of Toombs County, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Montgomery County.  He was born in Albany, and lived most of his life in Toombs County.  He was a 1996 graduate of Toombs County High School, and earned an Associate Degree from East Georgia College in Swainsboro.  He was manager for Arrow Rentals in Lyons, and worked there for twelve years, and most recently was employed at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Vidalia.  He attended Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons, and was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Larry L. Melton; and paternal grandfather, Robert Lee Crawley.

Charlie was passionate about Toombs County Football, the players, and the county he called home.  Even after high school, he participated for many years at football games by running the “Flying T” flag.  The only thing he was more passionate about was his wife and children.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Anna Brown Crawley; two children, Lydia Brown Crawley and Caleb Lee Crawley; parents, Michael Lee Crawley and Michelle Crawley, all of Toombs County; one brother, Jake Crawley and wife Kristen of Savannah; maternal grandmother, Gloria D. Melton of Panacea, Florida; paternal grandmother, Myrtice R. Crawley of Deatsville, Alabama; and several aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 31st at 3:00 p.m. in Booster Stadium in Lyons “The Pit” with Reverend Michael Plowman, Elder Jerry Lightsey, Pastor Steven Toole, and Coach Mark Stroud officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 until 9:00.
