Lyons,

Mrs. Cathy Lin Smith, age 68, of Lyons, died Friday, October 14, 2016 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Taipei, Taiwan and lived there until moving to Georgia in 1977. She was co-owner of New China Restaurant in Swainsboro and retired from Brewton Parker College, in the cafeteria. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church as well as Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, and feeding God’s people was her ministry.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Larry Smith of Lyons; two children, Sherry Smith Valliere and husband Patrick of Swainsboro, and David Smith of Lyons; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The funeral service will be held Monday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Plowman and Reverend Bill Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00.
