Mrs. Carolyn Humphrey, age 87, of Vidalia died Friday, August 21, 2015 in The Oaks at Bethany after an extended illness. She was a native of the Kibbee Community and was a lifelong resident of Toombs County. She worked at The Bethany Home for eighteen years in the dietary department and was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.F. Humphrey; daughter, Carolyn Gwenn Hancock; and parents, Henry and Ruby Gay.

Mrs. Humphrey is survived by two daughters, Glenrose Griffin and husband Morris of Patterson, and Margaret Barwick and husband Johnny of Ailey; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, August 24th at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Holly officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
