Brother Archie Morgan, age 87, of the Toombs Central Community, died Saturday, November 28, 2015, in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after a brief illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, living in the New Branch Community for several years, and has lived in Toombs Central since 1963.  He was a lifelong farmer, and started his ministry in 1957, as pastor of his first church, Hebron Holiness Baptist Church in Treutlen County.  Throughout his life, he pastored many other churches, including Aimwell Holiness Church in Vidalia, which was founded in 1976, and he was also a charter member.  For thirty-nine years, he had a radio ministry on WVOP on Sunday mornings, and a jail and prison ministry for many years.  He was an author, which was an autobiography, called, “On Eagles Wings”.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Gay Morgan; parents, William Henry Morgan and Eva Mae Sharpe Morgan; sister, Grace Morgan Spikes; brother, Cleve Morgan; and an infant sister, Patricia Morgan.

Brother Archie is survived two children, Charles W. Morgan and Patsy Morgan Toole of Toombs Central; one sister, Betty Morgan Jones and husband Bill of Vidalia; four brothers, Wilbert Morgan and wife Ruby of Toombs Central, Leroy Morgan and wife Jean of Savannah, Otis Morgan of Richmond Hill, and Joe Morgan of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, Jeff Morgan and wife Becky, Greg Morgan and wife Mirla, Josh Morgan, all of Toombs Central, Andrea Morgan of Savannah, and Michelle Toole of Vidalia; six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Brothers, Neal Bridges, Billy Joe Watson, and David Yawn officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
