Mrs. Millicent “Boots” Davis Nobles, age 85 of Lyons, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in her home in Lyons after a brief illness.  Boots was born October 25, 1929 in Jacksonville, Florida, grew up in the area, and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1948. She retired from the City of Jacksonville in 1988 before moving to Lyons in 2000 with her late husband, Jim Nobles. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Lyons. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and working in her garden. Boots was a member of the Seminole Booster Club in Jacksonville and an avid Florida State fan. She and Jim traveled in their motor home to Florida State games throughout the United States for many years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-two years, James M. Nobles; son, Daniel Clark Deal; and sister, Barbara Goodwin.

“Boots” is survived by her children, Curtis R. Deal III and wife Cheryl, David M. Deal and wife Jane all of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Marshall, Dana Marie, Dallas Deal, and Curtis R. Deal IV and wife Emilie; great-grandchildren, Finleigh and Curtis R. Deal V, nicknamed "CJ"; one sister, Patricia Rawlins Gow of Austin, Texas; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; stepchildren, Gina Nobles, and Timothy Nobles and wife Donna Lee all of Hilliard, Florida; and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 30th at 2:00 pm in the First United Methodist Church of Lyons with Reverend Jim Morrow officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.

The family would like to give special thanks for all the care and support provided to her by her caregivers, Jean Philips, Brenda Ricketson, and Linda Way.
