Mr. Bobby J. Cook, age 75, of Lyons, died Friday, September 23, 2016 at his home, after an extended illness. He was a native of North Augusta, South Carolina, and lived in Toombs County most of his life. He retired after thirty years from AT&T, served six years in the South Carolina Army National Guard, and was a member of the Vidalia Lyons Senior Clubs. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons, and was a former Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul E. Cook and Mildred Langley Cook Gantt; and two brothers, Carroll F. Cook and Roy E. Cook.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Linda Sisson Cook; one daughter, Sheila Beth Cook Craft and husband Wayne of Lyons; one son, David Kevin Cook of Register; one sister, Virginia Cook Jones and husband Larry of North Augusta, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Elaine Cook Stephenson of Graniteville, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Jonathan Craft and wife Maria, Jeremy Craft, Patrick Craft, Kayla Cook, Kristin Coleman and husband Weston, and Ansley Cook; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Coleman and Juliet Craft; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunlight Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Cobbtown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
