Lyons,

Mr. Billy Morrison, age 82, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Sunday, May 7, 2017, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Wheeler County, lived in Vidalia most of his life, and in Johnson Corner for the past thirteen years.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran where he served four years, and retired after thirty-six from United Insurance Company of America.  He served for many years as co-chairman of Toombs United Charities.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ellen Morrison; and sister, Deana Cooper.

Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Mildred Proctor Morrison of Johnson Corner; three children, Granville Morrison and wife Connie of the Blue Ridge Community, Veronica Morrison Dixon and husband Danny of Johnson Corner, and Angie Morrison of Lyons; one sister, Jackie Morrison Asquith of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren, Josh Dixon, Caleb Dixon, Haley Dixon Patterson, Doak Morrison, and Blake Morrison Kirby; five great-grandchildren, Kinsleigh Dixon, Roper Dixon, Tate Kirby, Blythe Kirby, and Kendall Morrison, Brodie Kirby, a great-grandson to be born in June; several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends, including a special friend, Jack Thompson of Vidalia.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.  Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
