Mr. Jesse William “Bill” Hearn, age 95, of Ailey, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a brief illness.  He was a native of Wheeler County, and moved to Montgomery County in 1962.  He worked with Thompson Lumber Company in Ailey for more than forty years, and worked with the Montgomery County Board of Education for fourteen years.  He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Allen Taylor Brantley; his parents, Jesse William Hearn, Sr. and Nannie Lizzie Lowery Hearn; a sister, Rosie Hearn; and a brother, Paul Hearn.  Bill loved his family and the Atlanta Braves.

Mr. Hearn is survived by his wife of sixty years, Roberta Snellgrove Hearn of Ailey; four daughters, Sandy Allen and husband Berrie of Ailey, Connie Richardson and husband Carl “Bubba” of Vidalia, Vicki Robins and husband Mike of Metter, and Amy Pittman and husband Dennis of Lyons; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Perry Hearn and wife Ruth of Jenkins County, and Terry Hearn and wife Debbie of Louisiana.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 7th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Perry Hearn officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
