Mr. Benny Moore, age 70, of Dead River Community, died Thursday, September 21, 2017, at his home, after an extended illness. He was a native of Polk County, Florida and grew up there. He lived in Michigan and Arkansas for many years, and moved to Montgomery County in 1970. He was a paint and body automotive specialist most of his life, and worked with Threlkeld Motor Company, and later with Roger Creamer and Eddie Horton. He worked with The Vidalia Advance for the last thirteen years, and was Baptist by faith. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing, and was a Hamm and CB operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Iva Evans Moore.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Christine Denmark Moore; four children, David Moore of Winter Haven, Florida, Cindy Shatto and Barry Lawrence of Uvalda, Sonny Moore and wife Jaime of Uvalda, and Benny Moore of Gainesville, Georgia; one sister, Vivian Smith of Orlando, Florida; two brothers, Tony Moore and wife Lynn of Elba, Alabama, and Mickey Moore of Milledgeville; seven grandchildren, Samantha and husband Derrick, Brittany, Harley and fiancé Chase, Lamar, Nathan, Joseph, and Heaven; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Monday, September 25th at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Funeral home with Bishop Gilbert Wommack officiating.
