We are so sorry in the loss of your mother and  want you to know we are thinking of you in your time of sorrow. Just know that she is in God's hands and feels no more pain.
We're never had a chance to meet your mother, but know the love you had for her and she for you. Just remember she will always be with you in your heart.
We know there is an emptiness right now , but it will get better. Only time can heal the hurt and the support and love of family and friends. Just know if you ever need us , we are only a phone call away. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.

I see us as young
Feeding all those blasted rabbits so we could go ride horses or play
I see us a little older
Me running away from the fireworks, you running towards
I see us as teens
The bottle is spinning and I'm scared where it will land, you laughing wildly
I see us as youngs adults
Me with my family and you with yours
I see a span of time
With blankness in between
I see us middle aged
Connecting over the space of states
I see you running, the race of your life
And me here while time stands still.....
I see me here alone, one less family member, kin, loved one.
But I see you
At Peace.

Arlene was my cousin, actually, the daughter of one of my cousins.  I remember her as a young girl with a sweet smile and tender eyes filled with joy and adventure.  It has only been within recent years that we have been in touch again after many years between.  And when I look at her pictures I still see the same sweet smile and eyes full of tenderness, joy and adventure.  I am sorry that I never had the opportunity to meet her family.  I wish I could do more than just send you words, but that is all that I have.  But know that my words are full of sympathy and sorrow.  And I pray that God reaches down and comfort you in this time of sorrow.

Dear Phil Pittman and Family

With our deepest sympathy, we have heavy hearts over the loss of Arlene.  She was an amazing woman with so much love and laughter to give to all whom she met, including our little family.
It saddens us to know, we will not see her driving the "Pink Fire" or even smile at us when she climbed in or out of the fabulous car.
For a few brief moments, we spoke of life and racing.  She was so busy giving herself to racing and the racing family, those few moments are charished.
May God's Grace shine upon all of you and keep you.  She is HOME!

I am so sad to hear of Arlene's passing. She was so vibrant and caring, living life to its fullest. My prayers are for God's comforting presence to surround all those who mourn, but especially  for her family and very close friends. I am sending a reading my husband, Pastor Herb Morgan, used to read at the graveside of departed loved ones.

Warm summer sun, shine kindly here
Warm southern wind, blow softly here
Green sod above, light light, lie light
Good night, dear heart, good night

For those who don't know me, I am Arlene's uncle. I was 10 when she was born. I babysat Arlene on occasion in Texas and, much as she hated me telling her boyfriend's when she was a teenager, I used to change her stinky, foul-smelling diapers. LOL  I just want all of you to know that before Arlene raced cars she was a Cross Country runner too at Pierce County High School. I used to be her point man/spotter - I followed her in my car while she ran 20+ miles out in the country in Pierce County GA. She was 16 and I was 26. How she could run so far and so well beat me. I got tired just driving that far! LOL  She was quick to make friends, quick to voice her opinion and, most importantly, quick to smile and love anyone, anything, anywhere. Yes, she was a racer of cars, but she was quick to do a lot of things in her life and while we will all miss her and love her forever, she will always be in our minds and hearts. Even though we didn't always show you or tell you, we do love you Arlene and always will!  XOXO
