Mrs. Alma Moseley Turner, age 93, of Uvalda, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. She was a native of Montgomery County, and was a 1941 graduate of Alston High School. After marrying her late husband, who was a naval aviator, they lived throughout the U.S., including twenty-six years Phoenix, Arizona. She returned to Montgomery County in 1996. She was Chairman of the Library Board in Mt. Vernon for seven years, and was a member of the Charlotte United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Glinnie Wilbur Turner; two sons, Dale George Turner and James Baxter Turner; parents, George Emmett Moseley and Cleva Davis Moseley, and a sister, Geneva Montez Cowan.
Mrs. Turner is survived by one son, Glenn William “Bill” Turner and wife Ava Gania Turner of Spokane, Washington; one sister, Geneva Francis L. Lowery of Uvalda; and three nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 11th at 3:00 p.m. in the Charlotte United Methodist Church with Reverend Shareon Womack and Bill Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Moseley Cemetery near Uvalda.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
